Ali Charmi is a London based storyboard artist, animator and director.
He has worked on feature films, television and hundreds of commercials, including a Stella Artois commercials with Matt Damon and Walkers crisp commercial with Mariah Carey. The storyboards range from quick thumbnails to highly finished illustrations.
Ali was an animator on the acclaimed Taghi Amiran and Walter Murch documentary “Coup 53” (Telluride, London International Film Festival, Palm Springs, Mill Valley, VIFF).
He is animation director for all animated sequences within the official Nelson Mandela documentary “Troublemaker” (aka Mandela’s Children).
Last year, the leading BAFTA-nominated games company, Rovio (Game/Film Production Company, Creators of Angry Birds -www.rovio.com) hired him to create screenplays for their game Small Town Murders.
He has also written and produced animation pilots for FremantleMedia.
Ali has lectured at UAL, London College of Communications, Ravensbourne and the London Film School on Animation & Storyboarding.
